This work deals with the assessment of the effectiveness of English language training in the Burundi National Defense Forces (or the Burundian Armv). It looks into the aims, expectations, and results of this training through a survey of the views of he people involved in it.

This work is divided into 5 chapters. The first chapter provides the reader with information related to the topic under study, especially by informing him/her different reasons which justify why this study was undertaken. The second chapter reviews the literature in connection with the topic under investigation. It looks into the different works by other researchers and whose topic are similar to the one of the present study. The third chapter shows the different methods and strategies that have been used in conducting the research for this work. The fourth and main chapter of this work deals with data presentation and analysis, and the interpretation of the findings. The fifth and last chapter of this work deals with the general conclusion and different recommendation that can help to improve this training if they are implemented.

The research has revealed that the English language training in the Burundian Army has been implemented mostly because of the country's integration into the East African Community hereafter "EAC", and the importance of English in the world. Different poeple involved in this training regard the knowldedge from it to be useful not only on military service but also in everyday life activites. They consider this training to be worth the time and efforts.
