As linguists say, there is no pure language at all. The learning of one language can be influenced by another or a dialect depending on the learning environment. It is in that perspective that I conducted this study on the influence of "Kinyarwanda" dialect on Enlgish teaching and learning in some primary schools of Busoni and Bugabira communes of Kirundo province. The research aims at showing how "Kinyarwanda" dialect influences the English learning and teaching in that area. It was conducted in primary schools which are boarded by Rwanda. The research was based on the validation of some research hypotheses concerning the influence of the linguistic environment or other languages on the English learning. As far as the sampling is concerned, chose teachers and pupils in different schools randonly. For data collection, teachers" and pupils" questionnaires were used as data collection instruments accompanied by classroom observation. Concerning data analysis procedures the analysis was based on the comparison between research from questionnaires and those from classroom observation. As far as findings are concerned, from data analysis. I found that the linguistic environment, the status (qualification) of teachers and inadequate materials play a great role in English teaching and learning in those schools.
