RESUME,
The aim of this work is to assess the role of dialogue and conversation in the development of students oral communicative competence at post basic school exactly in first year of thelanguage section.Major questions set up to guide the research were to know the techniques and approaches used by teachers to develop used a questionnaire and a classroom observation as research instruments.Data collected were processed,analyzed and interpreted.After the analysis ,it was found out that the time allocated to dialogue and conversation as well as the high numbers of students in classes are the main factors of the misure of dialogue and conversation in teaching and learning English in 1st year language classes of Muha commune.The study ended with a general conclusion and necessary recommendations for education partners and shakeholders were made.
