RESUME<br/><br/>This work sets out to examine Benjamin Franklin's autobiography as an important milestone in the development of the United States. Franklin sees in human being the capacity of reforming his socio-economic status through hardwork and by acquiring new values. Mankind is flexible to change his mindqet because a person's mind at birth is a tabula rasa. In this regard, the work is based on the hypothesis that Frandlin makes the point that man is responsable to change his own destiny. The above mentioned is clearly found in three angles of this work respectively in economics reforms, socio-cultural reforms and the Author's vision on material progress, democratic principles and his legacy. The work employs the sociological approach which holds that the author's race, milieu and moment determine th work he produces. Francklin stands out as one who wants to tell us that everyone is free to pursue his walfare and and he shows us that an upward social is achieved through hard-work.<br/> |
