RESUME;<br/><br/>Throughout this study,Developing the speaking skill of adults learners has been main concern.In fact,when i noteced a rapid proliferation of centresdealing with the english language teaching,I asked myself the reason for that situation.I also noticed that the demands from adults for English language instruction had increased beyond all expectations.This situation is rather justified in this sense that the combunation of political influence and technological superiority acquired though the british imperialism in the 19th centery and the economic influence of the USA has given English an advantage over other major imparial languages succh as French and spanish .I therefore asked myself whether those teaching centres could really meeet the learners' expectations of being good communication in the English language.<br/>In addition,improvement in telecommunication and faster methods of transport have apparently shortened distances between nations and people feel an urgent need to interact.That is the reason why burundians need to learn other languagesto break geographical harriersimposed by foreign languages.<br/>In the logic i throught of giving my contribution in seaching ways to improve the speaking skill teachingto adults leaners by suggesting modern teaching methods to use throughout this study:<<DEVELOPING SKILL IN CENTRES FOR TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO ADULTS IN BURUNDI:A study conducted on advanced leved learners at ELC.>><br/>To achieve that aim,I used 3 methods:Classroom observations,questionnaires for teachers and learners and interview afterwards,i proceeded with the Data Analysis procedure.L'ame up with conclusions concerning the problems whichhamper success in English language teaching in general and the speaking skill in particular.<br/>Finally,I suggested some recommendation to course designers,teachers and the government for the sake of the successs of the English skill teaching/learning processand hence for effective communication among people from all the parts of the wold.<br/><br/> |
