RESUME,<br/><br/>This study entitled " Racial and religion Prejudices in Maryse conde's I Tituba Black witch of salem" investigates racial and religious prejudices and their consequences as it is shown by the novelist.To achieve this,this researcher tries to expose areas of injustices inflicted on the minority group in the novel simply because of their color and religious prejudices in Condé's I,Tituba Black witch of Salem is the source of blacks phsical and spiritual sufferings in the novel.Our study finally concludes that negative feelings and stereotypes operate to reinforce this illusion that the whites are superior and blessed,and then have to dominate the blacks and ather races.This study uses new historism as its theoretical framework to show that puritans' racial and religious prejudices are rooted in the early history of America. |
