This study on "THE IMPORTANCE OF ERROR ANALYSIS AND REMEDIAL LESSONS FOR PUPILS" PERFORMANCE IN WRITING SKILL : Case of 3rd Form Arts in Some Selected Schools of ff City" tried to establish the importance of error analysis and remedial lessons in the improvement of writing skills for 3rd form Arts pupils while learning English as a foreign language. This study comprises five main chapters :
The first chapter is a general introduction, which examined the background information, statement of the problem, aim of the study, motivation of the study, scope and delimitation of the study, the research questions and hypotheses.
The second chapter is literature review. It deals with the literature of other works which have been written in the area of error analysis, writing skill and remedial teaching.
The third chapter is on methodology. Here, three types of intruments were used namely pretest and posttest, a teachers' questionnaire, and remedial lessons.
The fourth chapter analyses the data collected and interprets the findings of the sudy.
Finally, the last chapter deals with the conclusion of the whole study and brings out recommendations directed to teaches, pupils, course designers, as well as to future researchers. All this was done with the intent of finding solutions to pupils' errors in writing skill in Burundian secondary schools, particulary in the fourth form.
