This work entitled "A Survey of the use of the English language in some Burundian Media : Case of some Selected Radio Stations" seeks to investigate into how English programmes of some selected radio stations have been introduced and how they contribute to the development of the English language.
In order to find out the impact that these programmes have on listeners or learners of English, questionnaires have been distributed to presenters of thèse English programmes and to students from the English Language and Literature Department at the University of Burund. To supplement the information gathered from a questonnaire, an informal interview has been used for some presenters.
Troughout this study, it was discovered that most English programmes have been elaborated in accordance with the increasing importance of English language. It was also discovered that these programmes have a positive impact on listeners especially English language learners in developing their English language skills. At the end, some recommendations were addressed to the students, the Ministry of Education and the broadcasting media institutions.
