RESUME
Fourth form students' orientation is influenced by many factors. Some of them are common such as the success in class, age, availability of places ... but others seem not to be taken into account such as the students' towards a given field or the teachers' attitudes in the lower level of secondary school. This is the reason why we conducted a study on the impact of English teachers' attitudes on the fourth - form students' orientation. The aim of this work is to determine how English teachers attitudes contribute to the students' likeng or dislike for the Arts Section where they could learn more English. The research was conducted on the students in third forms in junior seminaries. We chose the respondents using the multi stage cluster sampling. That is, as primary sampling, we chose three among seven junior seminaries by simple randon sampling and, as secondary sampling, we chose the respondents using the simple random sampling too. A questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection. The findings show that the attitudes of English teachers at the lower level of secondary schools contribute a lot to the students' liking or dislike for the Arts Section where they could learn more English.
Some recommendations were directed to different people. Students should resist to the teachers' negative influences but may consider the importance that the English language has in the world. Teachers of English in the first cycle of secondary school must be aware that their attitudes may affect either positively or negatively the fourth form students' orientation.
