RESUME
This study examines the practice of sexual freedom or promiscity in Cyprian Ekwensi's Jagua Nana, Through Ekwensi, we are situating, in different circumstances that a female prostitute Jagua Nana met when she left her village Obabu to go the city of Lagos. It continues to prove that the city of Lagos is characterised by different evils. Whoever is engaged to go there has to adopt a way of living. In this context, Jagua went there because of the lack of money. It leads her to go to Lagos where she thought life should go ahead. Unfortunately, what she expected was not what happened at the end. Her way of living does not conform to generally accepted traditional mores in society.
