Résumé
The aim of this thesis was to provide the pragmatic meaning of the semantically extended lexical items used by tailors who daily work in Bwiza, Buyenzi and Kamenge communes. Since the meanings of their words are understood only via the implied meaning, il is a big problem because the outside world does not understand what these tailors communicate to one another.
In other words, the problem of a pragmatic meaning of a given sociolect is that people hear differently because pragmatics is understood through the contextual content. Therefore, it is a problem because customers only understand the literal meanings ot hte invented words and expressions used by tailors, and consequently infer their implied content.
The principal question was to ensure if the invented words used by these tailors have a pragmatic meaning. The researcher found out that the special language used by these tailors has a contextual meaning.
