Résumé,

Words form the basis for a linguistic analysis at any level of language study.
The aim of this essay was to identify the various lexical elements that make up God - related Kirundi names. Lexical features, lexical relations, word formation processes and the sequences of the word Imana in these names were employed to unravel the lexical and semantic elements contained in selected God-related Kirundi names. Among the findings in this work were taht noun (Imana) and verbs are found at the same level of lexical features , they go on pair and that synonymy and meronymy are mostlused in selected God-related Kirundi names.

Il was also discovered that were used in composing God-related Kirundi names. This study aims to contribute to the body of knowledge through an investigation into the combination of words and their meaning in conveying a message through God-related Kirundi names. Thes names were created through the word formation process of compounding. Synonymy and meronymy are the prominent lexical relations. The Kirundi language has developed a verbal strategy that involves the use of God-related Kirundi names (GRKN) to communicate their wishes, feelings and opinions, particularly as making communion with God. In this study, the following hypotheses are raised in accordance with the content of the study : God-related Kirundi names are used to express wishes. Burundians give an important place to God in their life. In the light of our investigation we recommended that hearers have to take into cognizance of the various lexical elements identified in God-related Kirundi names interpretation in order to ensure effective communication. These names may constitute the ways which persons use to communicate with God as a communion.
