The work of "Difficulties encountered by pupils in english oral expression" was conducted in Butaganzwa commune,Kayanza province. The current study attempted to find out difficulties encountered by pupils in English oral expressions.After observing that English is taught but is not actually spoken by Burundian laerners,I decedid to investigate on the topic stated above. In fact,during the study three research questions guided my research;Does french have a negative impact on the learning and speaking Engils? How often do Butaganzwa pupils speack English outside the classroom? Do english language teachers teach oral expression lessons in their classroom activities? Pupils of 1st modern Arts sections are the populztion concerned with my work.
Questionnaire for pupils and classroom observation were the instruments used to get results related to my topic.
Meeting pupils and their teachers on the field helped me to to find out the diffuculties faced by pupils and teachers in the classroom,and i also helped me follow with interest in order to see whether English oral expression is taught or not.

Therefore,finding showed that burundian learners of English encountered a member pf difficulties: they lack people to speak with after classes,that is, in their everyday life.They also have the problem of shyness because they fear to commit errors or be blamed since some burundians consider a burundian who is speaking Englis a boastful.
I finished the work by formulating recommandations to different people or group of poeple who could contribute to the remendiation of that issue.
