A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the degree "licence en langue et litterature anglaises"
The present work aims at investigating the language used by bus conductors when talking to passengers and its effects on passengers.Italso aims at finding out the answers of these questions:
1.what is the impact of the language used by bus conductors on passengers?
2. Does the language used by bus conductors when calling passengers really attract them?
Concerning the methodology,this wok provides clarifications about the population and the sampling techniques(convenience sampling) without forgetting the data collection procedures(interview and direct observation) and data analysis respectively.The findings show that the bus conductors' language has a negative effect on passengers,the bus conductors use their language appropriately when calling passengers to acheve their intentions,and the bus conductors' language does not really attract passengers. At the end,some recommendations were drawn in order to provide a guide to future scholars in the area of the study.
