A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the degree.
This work aims to know whether there is a difference in English language performance between male and female learners.
To attain the purpose of this study, the following hyotheses were raised.
* Boys and girls can perform well at english provided that good learning conditions are at their disposal.
* Teachers think that girls are better at English than boysor vice-versa and others say that girls perform equally in Engish language;all depends on the learners' background.
To verify the hypotheses, the researcher used the questionnaire addressed to teachers and learners. Also National English marks were used. After analyzing the data, the conclusion was that there is no difference between male and female learners in Engish language performance. All can perform well provided that good learning conditions are at their disposal. Therefore, the government should provide all necessary materials that learners need in order to perform better at school.
