RESUME,
This work studies polygamy in Ola Rotimi's Our husband has gone Mad Again. It examines polygamy by analyzing its causes, challenges and solution suggested in the play. The study situates the interptetation of thre text within ilgo and Muslim traditions of marriage. With the use of Feminist theory, this researcher argues that polygamous marriages profit men and deprive women of basic rights in marriage.
Basing our argument on Ola Rotimi's our Husband has gone mad aigain, this study is built on the hypothesis that education, political involvement and economic empowerment are solutions to women victimezed by polygamy. Our study concludes that if men treat women as equals and not use them for either political or cultural gains, couples would live a better married life.We trerefore believe that our readers will draw a lesson from the matual understanding of the female characters in this play and avoid the entaglements that lead to the regret of lejoka Brown at the end of the story.
