RESUME,
This work examines the words used by pupils of some selected secondary boarding schools of Gitega Township. It searches to investigate if there is a localized language in the schools which is specific to its users, if that language under study reflects the users' domain of life, and finally, if in the creation of that jargon pupiul make use of figures of speech. In this undertaking, the researcher used an interview and a questionnaire to gather data. The targeted schools are: Lycée Musinzira, lycée technique Christ-Roi, and Lycée Notre Dame de la Sagesse. By the end of this work,, the researcher discovered that pupils of the schools mentioned above have a jargon related to their everyday life. He also found that their jargon is made up of different languages, the dominant one being Kirundi. Therefore, most of those words and expressions are found in Kirundi.
