RESUME,
This work examines power abuse pertpertrated by postcolonial political African leaders i Chinua Acgebe's A mon of the people. It portrays show postcolonial politival leaders use their power relatons with the masses. It captures the treachery of these leaders by imitating the practices that were applied by the colonial masters and the failed to meet the people's expectations. This work is based on the hypothesis that the way postcolonial African political leaders use the power they got from the colonizers is due to the fact that want to behave as the colonial administrations whareas the latter were considered by Africain the source of evil a,d mosfortune that the common people areexperiencing. Written within the postcoloia they which is a critical analysis of the history and the practices impanted in the relations of domination and subordination, this work concludes that postocolonial political African leaders failedto change the malpractices that were held by the colonizers. They rather prefer to use the power they have in dominating and exploiting the masses. This work will therefore bring political leaders to awereness to know their role and how they ought to use their power over their subjects.
