RESUME,
The present study entitled " Motivation as a Factor of Success in English Language Learning within the East African Community: Case of Students at the University of Burundi " mainly attempted to show that the mastery of the English language by Burundi students is the greatest requirement for communication now that Burundi is a member of the East African Communty. The study aimed at showing that motivation leads to succes in English language learning and that Burundi students can learn English language successfully. The questionnaire admonistered to students was used to collect the data.Through this research, it was found out that the adhesion of Burundi in the East African Community motivates Burundi students to learn English, that the knowledge of the English language facilitates the free movement in the East African Communty on the one hand. On the other hand, it was found out that the mastery of the English language allows Burundi students to study, get jobs and do business in the East African Community.
