RESUME,
This study examines the idea of women empowerment in Efuru. It gives a firm idea that traditional norms hinder women empowerment. This work is written based on the strong-willingness of Effu in changing others' minds and her rebellious actions against oppressive traditional norms. It is constructed on feminism, reawaking women to fight for their rights and against oppressive traditional norms which constitute a hindrace to their empowement. Women, when empowered, are the forerunners of family and society development, but it does not mean for them to go against culture.
