RESUME,

This study investigated the contribution of classroom group discussion practices and reading aloud activties to the improvement of pupils' English oral expression.The study aimed at examining pupils' fluency,clarity and accuracy through class discussions and readingg aloud activities To collect data ,two instruments were used:teachers and pupils' questionnaire and classroom observation.Five teachers and 51 pupils were teachers and 51 pupils were investiated in this study.The data collected were analysed qualitatively and quantitatively.The findings highlighted that the lack of pupils' fluency in English was brought about by the adoption of ill-adapted teaching techniques (lack of fruitful techniques).
In addition pupils' lack of fluency was due to the other fectors,lack of appropriate and sufficient teaching materials,large size class,time contraints to practice English and inadequate teachers' academic qualification for English and inadequate teacher's academic qualification for English,lack of motivation activities,inadequate teaching approaches and methods,pupils' background and prerequisites.
